Senior Consultant

I’ve been working for CDM since 1994. Right now I am a Senior Consultant, but I’ve formerly been a TCM engineer (since 1984). My initial training from 1994, offered by the Roffey Park Management Institute, Great Britain, was followed by a two year long process of study using the Self-Managed Learning method that led to getting a “Diploma in Management Development” in 1997. There have also been a lot of courses of different lengths both in Romania and The Great Britain. I graduated a two years long MBA programme from the Technical University of Cluj in 1995 and I specialized as a doctor in management at the same University. My practical experience is ten years in the factory, holding different positions at the assembly line, reorganizing, space and machinery rental and I have organized and supervised auctions. I held the position of General Director and Technical Director at many private companies, I have organized, led and was responsible for investments in the petrol industry, I exported products in UE, selected my own collaborators, tested and sent people to work in Norway.

For 6 years, I’ve been a member of the Administration Council of a big company in Cluj-Napoca, tackling restructuring programmes as a result of a turbulent economic environment. I learned talking to people and listening to them, picking what is valuable out of what they did and trying to determine them to have the courage to dare to accomplish new things, using methods that perhaps have not been used before in those collectives and that lead to desired results quicker. In consulting, I worked with many managerial teams on establishing company strategies and facilitated a multitude of dedicated or open programmes, from more technical subjects (sales, strategy, financial management for managers, time management, marketing, branding) to more general ones (delegation, teamwork, stress management, etc.) or those dedicated to skill development (presentation, communication, etc.), or even dedicated to personal development (including Action Learning and Self-Management Learning processes). Every project meant a new experience, some of them ending up in books, courses, articles and published works, others capitalized and used in current training and consulting activities. I mention here only programmes with a duration of a year or longer, held for Banca Transilvania, Dacia Pitești, Ford Craiova, Lafarge Group, Iproeb Bistrita, Petrom and Remarul 16 Februarie Cluj. There have been other tens and tens of shorter open or in-house programmes. I am certified as an internal auditor ISO 9001, skill evaluator and a certificated trainer. The work and intervention in RU systems, programmes for organizational development, identification of training needs and conceiving programmes for satisfying them are the directions I focus on mostly while satisfying my need for being of help for others, offering them models, systems, reference frames, experience exchanges and as many “aha”s as I can get that lead them to productivity.
